Installing centon ddr2-800 chip in an aspire 5517 presently it is 667 mhz.

I bought a centon sodimm ddr2-800 chip stated that it was compatable with 667 and 533. I installed and the computer will not boot. Is it a mhz. issue can I reset mhz.

You will have to provide your motherboard details as well as the memory or a link to it.

MHz alone is not the only specification that is important and it is possible that you have not met some requirement or have something incompatible.

Without knowing the exact details of your hardware it is impossible to ensure that your items are compatible.
