Hi guys.

I've got an ATi Radeon HD4650 1GB. I realize it's not a great card, but I have managed to do quite well with overclocking it. I've pushed the core clock from 400MHz to 700MHz and the memory clock from 400MHz to 500MHz without any artifacts or graphical errors and the system is stable. I get better framerates in games than both of my friends who have 9800GTX's. It's still got stock cooling.

Idle, it sits at about 45C, and during the most graphical intensive situations, it maxes at 65/70C. Is this OK?

Thanks.

What program or software did you use to overclock your card I have the same video card and for some reason I can't get it to overclock

I used Catalyst Control Center, which is the driver package that the 4650 requires.
If you don't have it already, visit ati.com and fill in the form on the right.

i ve ATI mobility HD 4650(on dell inspiron N5010), in my case while playing games like NFS THE RUN, the GPU temp. goes to around 95-98 C(just within 2-3 minutes) when the speed is default(i.e. 450 MHz nd 600 MHz) & d same is d case on overclocking to-->510 GHz nd 660 GHz. max ppl say that the safe temperatures are 80 C, but for me the temperature even without overclocking goes to around 95-98 C

IS THIS A SAFE RANGE OF TEMPERATURE?

the temp of GPU when d system is idle is about 60-65 C.
should i overclock 4 better performance????

I had an XFX 4650 512mb with the fan broken with just the heat sink working and the card never got above 80C and worked fine. Ended up putting and old Athlon 1.6 GHz CPU fan on taped with medal furnace tape ans now it runs about 45 C under load.
