I just installed a new HD in my Dell Inspiron 510m - it formatted okay and loaded XP, but after requiring a restart constantly show 'disk read error' I downloaded the latest BIOS update from dell as has been suggested on some forums but no joy. The HD is first on the boot list, also suggested as a cure and still no joy. If I re-install the old HD all is okay - I am at a loss now - any ideas?
