My pc is old and I've checked with crucial.com and my pc will work with ddr(pc 3200) but if I buy a pack like this:
2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit System Memoroy.

Will it work on a single channel system? Because my pc doesn't support dual channel.

It should still work, your motherboard will run the memory in single channel mode. You should list your motherboard brand, model and the memory you plan on buying. Shouldn't be to hard for me or others to check if it is compatible.

I'm not exactly sure I have an old Hp pavillion 780n the most that I know about it is from the HP site http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bph07049&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN.

it says it will take 2100 ddr ram, but I believe if I'm not mistaken it can take up to the 3200 because ddr is backwards compatible...

The ram I plan to buy is.....SKILL Value 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit System Memory

Thanks for the help.
