Odd problem running LCD monitor on laptop...

I am running a 22" LCD monitor with my laptop.Everything is fine except when watching a video it goes full screen and can not be reduced or controlled in any way from the LCD.I have to control it on the laptop display where the video is playing in a small window...not really that big of problem but curious as to what is going on...tia

Useful link here.....talks about Powerpoint presentations/video running full screen on projections/LCD's and how to work with them. From the info, I'd say this pertains exactly to your problem as well.
