Hey, I was trying to find a picture with an Antec Solo and someone measured for maximum size of video cards before mods are needed.

I think it is 9.5"? Anyone know what size of card can be used before you would have to mod the case which I think involves moving the bottom portion of the hard drive cage?

I am trying to shop for a new video card or deciding whether I should upgrade. It is irritating that the case is restricting my choices unless I buy a new full size tower. I think I'll probably just buy a shorter video card, though. I am thinking of Nvidia 9600GT, 9800GT or ATI 4850.

I think all those fit but I am wondering what room is left and damn, if only I could find that picture! It illustrated the room perfectly! Oh well, I think most card will fit except for 8800GTX, 9800GTX+ and 4870+ series which would require mods to the case.

Any info would be appreciated! I just want to confirm...

I have a gtx 260 in a solo case, to fit I had to cut part of the hard drive cage with a dremmel. Now only 3 hard drives fit instead of 4. Total room needed for the 260 in this case is about 11 inches and the space in the case is about 10.5 inches.
I also have a 8800gt laying around and yes the card is 9.5 inches long plus the power connects to the back not on the side like a 260 so you will need to add at least an inch to the 8800gt. I am not sure if the 9xxx series are the same or not but i think it would be very tight or impossible to install any of these cards with out modding the case.
As for the 4870, I have never seen one so don“t know.
