Recently I swapped out my dads CPU and Power Supply for a Q6600 and antec basiq 500w PSU. Since then he has been having problems with the monitor not turning on after reboot. I know it boots to windows because I can hear windows music as it starts but there is no display. We found that the only way we can get it to work is if we unplug everything and plug it back.

Specs:
Asus P5ne-sli
Antic Basiq 500w
Q6600
Corsair 2x2gb
Windows XP Pro
Evga 7600gs 256mb

PS. I forgot to mention that during start up i sometimes here 1 long beep and three short beeps. Does this mean it's a hardware problem?

Make sure the video card is fully seated. The code you mention is the code for no video card... so either the card is not installed right or not getting enough power or is failing.

Thanks. You think it could be a bad or loose VGA cable?

As far as I know that should not produce a beep code... but I'm not 100% on that.

What kind of warranty does EVGA offer?

Reply to ragsters

That depends. Many of their cards have lifetime warranties.

Try removing the graphics card and using onboard video and see if that fixes the problem. If it does then its the graphics card and I wouldn't be surprised at that, even though 7600 is pretty reliable that card is old :)
