I have a Dell XPS Gen 3 desktop.

These come with a 460 Watt PSU and an X800 XT.

I love the card, but it's time for it to be upgraded

I have an Intel Pentium 3.4 Chipset 925X Express

(4) sticks of 512 533Mhz (going to upgrade to (4) 1 Gig sticks, but not going to change my situation here)

80Gig HD

CD-RW

CD-ROM

I am contemplating purchasing a BFG 8800 GTS

I have ran a PSU calculator with this graphics card and it says "recommended" 460W

I think I am pushing it, but I have read some great reviews on this card and this card seems to be the best performance of choice and my budget.

I will not purchase a new case and new PSU (let's get that out of the way) If I purchase these I will just build a system of my choice

I am happy with my system, but I have been looking at cards for a few years now thinking it's going to be time to replace soon... and soon is here.

I am worried about my PSU not being able to handle the load of the card.

I have the space needed for the card.

The PSU info from my manual is this

Wattage 460W
Heat dissipation 931.2 BTU/hr
Voltage
fixed-voltage power supply --- 1 10V at 50/60 Hz

manual selection and auto-sensing power supplies --- 90 to 135 V at 50/60Hz; 180 to 265V at 50/60

Anyone able to give me some facts/links on better graphic cards for this system (not a 550W required graphics card please)

If I have to step down in model of Nvidia to accomodate my system or /// cough - grit teeth /// go to an ATI card, please give me a link to some benchmarks for a lower end card that still does good in performance

Took all of two seconds to find this http://www.notebookforums.com/thread208127.html post from another forums. (3rd post down)

Get an 8800gt, not too much VGA for too little CPU and PSU.

Without an exact spec on the PSU (Number of rails and amps per rail if more than one is present), very hard to make a specific determination.
