I have two PC's. One has a 920 D0 and the other a 920 C0. Both have Xigmatek HDT-1283's on them with the same compound.
Regardless of idle/load, my C0 temps seem to be much more consistent than the D0 temps.
C0 temps: 39-38-39-38/72-70-71-70 - 3.8Ghz @ 1.275v - Asus Board
D0 temps: 38-37-33-32/68-67-62-61 - 4.0Ghz @ 1.25v - EVGA Board
As you can see, the C0 temps are very consistent. The D0 temps kind of decline through the cores. Usually, two cores are 4-6 degrees higher than the other two. I've remounted and reapplied compound three times on the D0 machine and it doesn't change a thing. The only thing that stays the same is the difference in temps between the same cores. I've even rotated the cooler 90 degrees and the temps stay the same.
Is this typical of D0 920's? Do I need to calibrate anything? Do EVGA boards have an issue reading temps properly?
