@shortstuff_mt (build review plz)

Hi,

I've been trolling the forum for the last few days seeing what most people have been suggesting for new gaming builds and I think I have found all I need. This build will replace my P4 3mhz / x1950pro system that I've been trying to keep alive for well longer than reasonable. I spend the majority of my PC time playing MMOs and watching/ripping/transcoding video. I will probably play something like Crysis just to check out what the system will do but for the most part the focus is Warhammer Online (whether or not it was ready for prime time or not).

With all that said, I have lifted the following components from a number of threads in the past few days. I think I want to build a system leaving room for future upgrades. I think I should start dual core / single GPU and if in the future it seems worth doing, bump to quad / crossfire. The only parts I didn't directly steal from your other posts were the optical drive and the specific GPU brand/model.

If anyone sees any glaring omission or flaw in my overall philosophy please let me have it. I have by no means hit ORDER yet. Thanks in advance!
