I'm not that new to computer software but I'm kinda new at hardware so i've been looking around for a kit that has all the correct parts and all you have to do is build it yourself so far the closest thing I've seen is bare bones from geeks.com and i don't even know if their installed or not but do you guys know were i could buy a kit like this?

You can save a lot of money by researching it, then buying individual parts and putting it together yourself. If you're not interested in that, newegg.com and tigerdirect.com sometimes have some pretty good deals on barebones.

go to newegg.com or tigerdirect.com, pick out the parts you want and list them here. There are many very knowledgeable members that can make suggestions for changes etc. There are installation instructions that come with every MOBO and I am sure there is a "build your own" guide somewhere on this web site. BTW, it is very easy to build your own comp and you will save a lot vrs. buying an out of box system or even a kit. Your other option would be to tell us 1)what you are going to use the comp for 2) how much you can spend and 3) does your budget need to cover monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers?

If you are going to list parts here are the basics you will need:
1) comp case - mid tower is usually good enough
2) CPU
3) GPU - video card
4) power supply
5) motherboard - in most instances the onboard audio will be good enough so avoid a sound card unless this is a media center.
6) RAM - just get DDR2 in a 4GB (2GB x 2) config
7) Hard Drive(s)

I am sure I forgot something so if anyone notices don't hesitate to yell out "hey dumbXXX you forgot...". Good luck.

hey dumbXXX you forgot the CPU cooler and CD/DVD drive.

Of course you can get by without both.

^ Hey you :P most of the Retail CPUs come with a HSF. Unless OCing which I doubt the OP would do, there is kind of no need for a HSF.
