My board is a Intel P945g and i'm using a sony vaio brand computer.

Currently i have 1gb 5332 (PC2 4200) in the computer. The vaio website says it's upgradeable to 2gbs of ram.

I went to the intel website and the board that they used supports up to 4gb of ram.

I went to crucial and check out there memory checker (to see what kind of upgrade they recommend) and they recommended 677 (PC2 5300) ram. The board does support up to 677 ram.

So....should i get 4gb of 677 ram or would i really be limited to 2gb? I'm using windows xp so i know i'm going to be only seeing 3-3.5gb of ram, but with ram so cheap...why not?

never mind the above post. It only supports 2gb of memory i guess...so says Crucial.

Fry's.com has crucial desktop memory on sale with rebates. They might also have some deals on notebook memory.
