awhile back i built my own system..

asus p5b
antec earthwatts 430w ps
evga geforce 8600 gts
intel dual core 2.4ghz

into a huge caseand it worked great. within the last few days i got a different case, much smaller and sleeker and a new hard drive. i moved everything over and now i can't get anything to work. the power supply won't turn on.. the indicator light never comes on. i bareboned it to nothing and still no reaction. not sure what i'm doing wrong. the only thing the power supply is plugged into is the mobo with the 24 pin connector and the 4 pin connector. any ideas?

Did you use only those standoffs that align with holes in the motherboard, removing any standoffs that do not?

Is the power supply switch in the back actually on?

Have you double checked the power switch connection on the MB? Could you have placed the wrong connector on it?

yes, the ps is on and plugged in.
double checked the power switch connection with the manual and it checks out. and yes, nothing else is plugged into the motherboard except the processor fan.

When the PSU has been unplugged or turned off, when you plug it back in does the PSU fan spin briefly?

Reply to Proximon

nope... i'm fearing it may be dead?

Reply to bconley05

Possibly yes. They are big and heavy but they do have delicate parts in them. A good jar can total one.

Reply to Proximon

Well, check the other outlet :p

Reply to Proximon

yeah, tried many different outlets.

To check if the PSU is working, unplug everything and Jump Pin 14 to any ground pin.
If the PSU fan starts spinning, it is probably working just fine.
Double check that you have the power switch on the correct jumpers.
Try dragging over your old case and trying it's power switch.
From what you describe, it sounds to be nothing more than a faulty switch on the new case.
