I had a problem trying to get dual channel running. On K9A2 platinum,I had no problem running 1066mhz but it read as single, I had the Corsair dominator mem. I had them in the slot1 &slot3. That's the only way it will booth up , if I had in slot2 & slot4 It won't booth up at all . I just flash my bios from 1.4 to 1.5 version still not working. At this point I don't know what else to do !
Use whatever slots work on your board. Single channel isn't much slower than dual channel. And if you fill all 4 memory slots, many boards will run at a slower speed anyway.
Hi 01die !
The problem is I can't boot the window at all, if I fill all 4 slots with 8 gig . Recently I had built another system using Asus motherboard ( M3A78 - EM ) with AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000 3.1GHz . And I did try my 4gig corsair dominator , it works like a charm , no problem at all .
So what I did I went to Micro Center get another Asus motherboard : M3N72-D AM2 and try to build another sytem and it failed to recognized dual channel and 1066mhz .So I went back to exchange another Asus motherboard ( ASUS M3A78-T AM2 ) same resulted as M3N72-D AM2. Only read 4gig are shown in slot 1 & slot 3 , if I added another 4gig in slot 2 & 4 It won't boot the window at all , So I return the motherboard. .
Then I saw the MSI K9A2 platinum deal at the amazon for this cheap so i bought it for$130 , at Micro center way too expensive $189.00.
For some reason I like MSI board more than Asus . I think there must be the way to solve this problem . Right now I am running 4gig single channel in slot 1 & 3 , but it will be nice to add another 4gig I just bought.
01die ! Should I upgrade my Bios from 1.5 to 1.6 ?
