Hey guys. Can you tell me what you think of this build? This is my first build and I need to make sure all these parts are compatible. Feel free to suggest alternatives to any of these parts. I'd like to keep this thing around $1000. Thanks!!

I'd make 4 changes, but it is a workable build.

Thanks for the quick reply! Well I understand the changes you made to the heatsink, video card, and PSU, but I'm curious as to why you chose the DDR2 800 instead of the 1066. Was this just to drop the price a bit or would this perform similar to the 1066 I had picked out? I noticed the timings on the RAM you chose are quicker but I'm not sure how timings compare with speed when measuring the overall performance of RAM. Would it be better to have slower RAM with faster timings?

Sorry, I probably sound like an idiot asking these questions but I'm pretty new to this. Any help would be appreciated.

DDR2 800 MHz ram has faster timings, typically requires less voltage, and is cheaper. Also, if you plan to OC the Q6600 you can use a 1:1 ratio with DDR2 800 and get 3.6 GHz.

Oh okay that makes sense. Thanks for the help guys.
