4 gig ram (2.93 usable)

i just purchased and installed windows 7 ultimate and noticed my ram says 4 gb but 2.93 usable how do i correct this??

my computer is duo core 2 e6600 processor shouldn't this be able to handle 4 gb espcecially since that my max ram upgrade is up to 4 gb??

Did you install the 64 bit version, or the 32 bit version? Your processor has nothing to do with it.

Sure you got x64 man? Check in sytem properties. And what are you using to see your amount of memory detected?

Check your BIOS for a setting called something like "memory remapping". If your BIOS has this, you will have to enable it. Read your motherboard manual.

Check if the Intel HD graphics are installed, if Yes.

Then check your graphics memory in dxdiag.

lemme know the graphics memory you seeing there in dxdiag and also wat your vendor specified about graphics on ya machine.
