Help mE i dont know if the updates are going

I just isntalled windows 7 and it is in the process of doing updates but i have had it going for the past hour and it still says the same thing about installing an update and the percentage does not move.. what could eb wrong and i am just impatiuent?

Hi start in safe mode and then go to Control panel \ Programmes and features. On the left goto windows updates and delete the last couple of updates and then restart. Your computer should return then to before the updates. It may have been a faulty download so if you want download again and retry
