IE8 ads

OK, so I'm a die hard XP user who just upgraded to IE8, only because I had to reformat my HDD. There's one thing very annoying about IE8 and I must get rid of it or I will $hitcan it. Many times,if not most times when clicking on a new page I am diverted to an advertisement which I can avoid by clicking on some text. I can't be the only one bothered by this. How do I stop it?

This is not I.E. 8 you have malware unless you are going to a site that actually does have ads, in which case, don't go to that site.

Install Malwarebytes, make sure it updates. Reboot PC into SafeMode and run it with a Full Scan.
