what do you guys think is acceptable long term OC vcore for an E8500?
im overclocking right now,
got it at 4.4 gighz @ 1.42 vcore (but i think i can lower it a tad)
im not sure how long this overclock will last though. i read somewhere to give your OC cpu the longest life never go past 1.336 or something. recommendations?
*needs enlightenment from overclocking gurus*
------------------------------E8500 oc'd 4.5 @ 1.44 vcore with 92mm Zalman
ATI 4850 oc'd 680/1158 with aftermarket Zalman
Asus P5Q Pro mobo
2 gigs 800 Corsair ram @ 4-4-4-12
Intels' VID range is up 1.3625v, that is the voltage that a E8x00 can run at and function within Intel's spec.
1.45v is the max that Intel recommends, they do not guranteed that it will work at that voltage or higher, and they do not guranteed that your CPU will work even if you return to normal voltages.
