Hi, just bought a Sata Hitachi Deskstar 7k2000 2TB internal HD. My problem is that my vista ultimate is not recognising the drive in my computer yet it can be seen in the Bios. My setup is an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 with an Asus p5n-d motherboard. Any help would be apreciated.

If the drive doesn't show up in Windows Explorer but it DOES show up in Disk Manager, then it's probably just not partitioned and formatted.

Go into Disk Manager:

Start -> Right-click "Computer" -> Manage -> Click "Disk Manager" in the left pane

...and look for the drive in the right pane. If you see it in the lower area but it doesn't show a drive letter, then right-click on it to partition, format and assign a drive letter to it. The wizard will walk you through it.

Brilliant, thanks, just found it and preformed quick format and assigned drive letter, soo simple yet just never used Disk manager before and in Vista its just labled Manage but I got there.
Again thanks
