Problem with new hard drive

I just installed a new hard drive into my htpc. I am backing up some movies and ran into some problems. The hard drive is a Western Digital Caviar Green WD15EARS 1.5TB 64MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive. The problem I am having is the playback of Video_TS files. When I play the files the image becomes scrambled blocks every few seconds/minutes. The reason I think this may have something to do with the hard drive is that the same file works fine when ripped and played on another hard drive I have in the htpc. Also other types of files such as avi's work fine on the hard drive, it just seems to be Video_TS files that are the problem. So is the problem the hard drive or should I look to another source for the problem?

The WD15EARS is a drive with "Advanced Format". IF you are running it under Win XP you need to use a software utility from WD called WD Align. See this site for details:
