i know the minimum required wattage is 580 but since the GX2 doesnt actually use 580watts, the most it uses is 193watts. would you guys think that a 500watt psu would be ok? could i run it with a 500watt psu? the system it would go into is this:

E8400 @ 3.0GHz
2GB RAM
1 120GB HDD
1 dvdrw drive

so if any one knows or thinks this is ok, all info is welcomed. i personally think i would be fine but i would like others knowledge also.

Maybe, but ur gonne use like all the time 80%+ of your power. Like 400W when gaming. im thinking about the Lifespan of your PSU.

I think it may work, BUT !

It's more than enough. It's one 9800gx2 with a 45nm dual core cpu running at stock. actual load won't be anywhere near 400w.
