280 GTX upgrade

ok right now i want to upgrade my graphics

My current setup consists of

GAGIBYTE 965P-DS3
Q6600 @ 3.6 ghz
2 GB PAtriot extreme DDR-800 4-4-4-12
8800 GTS 640
OCZXGAMESTREAM 700

Would i bottleneck the 280 GTX with my x16 PCI-E 1.1 slot? or would i need PCI-E 2 to get full functionality?

Also i do not have a 8 pin i only have 2 6 pin.

the 2x6pin to 8 pin adapter included in EVGA cards will work right?

No pcie1.1 should be suffice for that card you shouldn't see any bottleneck, unless it running less then x16.
Yes the adapter will work.
