Western digital wd1200 mainboard

i have a Western digital WD1200 HDD,something on the board burned & i was hoping to find out whether or not it is possible that i use the exact same model board or can i use any other model board in that range(eg. WD200 or WD400 HDD). I am not planning on using the drive in the long term, but would like to extract data off the drive.

What options do i have??

if you have skill in electronics go to used PC shop , find same model WD harddisk with good main board .. replace the damaged MB with this & try..

It won't take much skill - there will be no soldering involved. All you need is care and attention to detail.
