Error loading OS

I shut down my system normally, and the next time i booted it showed "error loading operating system"
I then tried to use the set up disc, but it still wont work.

I use vista Ultimate x32 on a fujitsu siemens desktop.

I later slaved the hard disk on another system. It showed the file system as RAW (instead of NTFS) and I was prompted to format the drive, but did not because I have an important project and files on the hard disk.

any suggestions please.

I would get your files of the disk and reinstall
  2. I would try a live linux disk to see if you can recover your data... i like knoppix
  3. Google how to fix a RAW format drive to make it usable again WITHOUT destroying its data.
