The Centurey USR 2000 Digital Satellite Decoder used by the SKY
broadcaster has a RS232 port which I am hoping would allow me to switch
tv channels and perhaps control the volume using a computer rather than
a standard remote controller.

However, I cannot find any information as to the functionality of the
RS232 port. It might just be a diagnostics port but if it is not... it
would be heaven.

Does anyone here have access to the specs of this decoder? Cable pin
positioning, signaling? I would like to connect the RS 232 port to
either a computer serial/printer port. I am more than willing to write
a sample scripting application + a unix device driver to go with either
freevo or mythtv.
