I want to hook an external IEEE 1394 drive to my Mitsubishi 52525. I
had a firewire/USB2.0 compliant case and put a 200GB drive in it. It
didn't recognize it. Has anyone done this successfully? What must I
do to the drive?

Your TV isn't going to know what to do with a "raw" computer hard drive.
Have the hard drive in a Windows XP computer with a IEEE 1394 connection and
connect that to the TV. XP might recognize the TV and you could record and
playback. Your Mitsubishi TV would almost certainly work with one of the
DVHS vcrs (Mitsubishi or JVC). There is an RCA HDTV hard disk recorder
(DVR2080 or 2160) that might work also.
You can try the avsforum.com for more information on HD recording or
computer-HDTV connection. Let us know what happens.
