I have XP 64 bit and 4 Gb of ram, but system properties only shows 3.75. I had Vista 32 bit and fully updated it registered 4 Gb. I was told that the 32 bit Vista did not actually utilize the full 4 Gb of ram it just was able to show you that you actually had 4 Gb. Well I bought XP 64 bit because I did not like Vista and my computer had issues when Vista was installed that are not there when XP is installed. I love the XP 64 bit even more that XP 32 bit. I just wanted to know if there was any thing I needed to do to get my computer to recognize the full 4 Gb of ram.
I work with graphics programs alot is the reason I wanted the 4 GB of Ram. (Corel Draw, Photoshop CS3, Paintshop Pro X1)

My computer is an Acer Aspire 4520 with AMD2 Turion TK 55

does that acer model have integrated graphics? in which case, it would using part of your ram as video memory. so 3.75gb will be the max you can use...

Yes, I believe he is right since I have assigned 256Mb of ram to the graphics controller
I should have thought of that.
