Hi guys
I have a AMD 6000+ x2 64 AM2 CPU on a Asus M2n-sx se Mobo
with a Nvidia 9600Gt video card
I want to upgrade my computer before windows 7 is released
I want to upgrade to a AM3 or AM2+ mobo that is capable of SLI & 6x SATAII, i want to do this so i can upgrade slowly and use my 6000+ cpu during my upgrading process.
I have searched the net looking for a mobo AM2+ with SLI and cannot find anything. Is there such a thing or will i have to get rid of my 9600GT and get 2 ATI card's
and run crossfire. Also will AM2 CPU's run on a AM3 mobo.

Thankyou in advance

Bernie

You can't use an AM2 or AM2+ CPU in an AM3 socket - it physically won't fit, and your AM2/2+ couldn't work with the RAM anyhow. You can, however, put an AM3 processor into an AM2+ motherboard, provided the BIOS supports it.
If you're looking to do a slow upgrade, I figure the Gigabyte GA-M750SLI-DS4 will work ok - Gigabyte's updated the BIOS to support at least the 920 and the 940 AM2+ Phenom II (as well as your 6000+), it supports SLI, and it has 6 SATA ports.

If you're looking at an online retailer like NewEgg - they've got a fair number of 750/780 AM2+ motherboards that support SLI... Undoubtedly one will meet your requirements, since it seems like NE doesn't carry the Gigabyte board I mentioned.
