Hi all, I just got through installing 3 Different CPU's today, everything went well, but I have a quick question about one of the CPU's rpm's..On the AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000 3.1GHz, it say's that the rpm's are at 4530..I'm thinking that is kinda high but not sure what my options are for lowering it..I got the rpm's through Asus PC Probe and also verified this through the bios.. FYI the cpu temp is a nice 31c

Is this rpm ok? and also what are my options for lowering it a bit? Thank you much in advance..

***The 4530 rpm and 31c is at idle

The RPM's are fine (for the fan), unless the noise bothers you. This is the stock heatsink/fan I presume? The temps are good, so I really wouldn't mess with it. If the problem is noise, try speedfan, or get an aftermarket cooler with a very quiet fan.

Ok, thank you very much..It is indeed the stock heatsink/fan, and the noise is fine with me because I don't hardly hear it.. Thanks again
