I'm fairly new at OCing, but I'm trying (and willing) to learn as much as possible.

My set up is i7-860 on a P55 chipset motherboard.

I overclocked with Turbo technology on, hoping that it would work. But I get the feeling that it doesn't work anymore.
I thought that the Turbo looked if it is beneficial to shut down some cores in favor of a higher multiplier on 1 core (up to 24x). It didn't see that behaviour though after my overclock.
Is there a good way to test if Turbo is on?

What exactly are your specs? Aside from giving a clearer picture for the others here, I also want to know if you're using one of those boards with sockets that fry under even moderate overclocking. More info here: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/p55-motherboard-ove...

Processor: Intel i7-860
Motherboard: Asus P7P55D-E Pro
CPU Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus
RAM: 2x2GB OCZ Gold 1600Mhz 8-8-8-24 (soon another Dual Channel kit of 4GB(2x2GB))
GPU: Sapphire VaporX HD5870
PSU: Corsair 650W HX (modular)
HDD: 2 x Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB
Case: Coolermaster HAF 932

I realise that you might not need every thing in this list, but at least its complete then :)
