Stick with Intel-chipset-based boards.

What is your current MB? Any reason why you want to upgrade? You do realize that all your choices are >200$ Motherboards ... why if you don't plan to crossfire or OC?

Based on the information you gave, I would say just get a GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P, 115$ after MIR.

An Asus P5LD2-SE or a PLD2-SE? I'm unable to find anything meaningful about a PLD2. While at it, can you give us your complete system spec so you don't end-up with a nasty surprise like incompatible CPU and things like that.

You might have to make your mind about XFire, because for a single card (including the dual-GPU cards like the 4850X2, 4870X2 and GTX 295) there will be no performance difference between a 115$ P45 board, a 200$ P45 board and a 300$ X48 board. You will get much more for your $$$ by spending it for a better GPU than a better MB (ex: a 300$MB + 200$GPU will get its ass kicked by a 150$MB + 350$GPU). Performance gained from MB is minimal, the only difference are the features.

The Asus Rampage Formula (X48 chipset) will allow you to use XFire in full x16 mode where the UD3P will only allow x8 mode; the real-life performance difference is ~5-10% I think which isn't that great for ~300% of the price.

oh sorry its P5LD2-SE ..im using a HIS 4850 ..and a dual core..im planning to upgrade my cpu to quad core..btw one of the thing that i want for rampage and maximus is the xfi soundcard ;)

If I were you, I would either go for an "held-back" upgrade with a cheaper P45 board, then upgrade the CPU and GPU (the performance loss of x8 XFire is minimal on 4850 cards, so you could probably just add a 2nd one) or go full scale with an X58/i7 setup.

If you buy the Rampage/Maximus and the quad CPU, you will have no real upgrade path after that, limiting the value of the 250-300$ MB.
