ok. so i decided to sort my image folder first quarterly, than get into more detail after

some quarters i only have 6000 images in one folder, some quarters i have over 30000

i want the folders to open with some amount of speed, so what should i do?

im thinking between 2500 and 5000 images per folder i have a folder on the desktop with 2500 images in it and it opens relitivly fast.

anyone got some opinions? i want to get this figured out soon so i can mirror the folder on another harddrive.

actualy its over 300,000 and only about half are porn, but i only consider 75000ish porn.

yea i have, but they are to expensive for the space. i would need a 120gb drive and that would last me at best 1 year, possibly 2.

for now ssd are out of the question.

Sorry, got nothing as far as google search. 2 thoughts: keep your disk optimized (defragged) and consider RAID 0 if it's that big of an issue. Plus a good backup if you have RAID 0.

im never going to raid 0, and i dont really care about speed, as long as explorer doesn't freeze just by clicking the folder some times. but i am having problems seeing just how many images i can put in a folder before it has an adverse effect.
for reasons of explorer crashes periodical because of that folder, i cant test it. so without testing i need to know. how to separate images so the folder load faster with each folder holding as many image as possible.
