Hi guys, I'm thinking of buying the computer with the following specs, I wanted to know if you guys could tell me if the components (motherboard, etc) work well with the other parts.. I don't know that much of computers and I'm afraid I might have picked a motherboard that wouldn't support the graphics card or the cpu... or take a power supply with not enough power to support the rest... I'm looking to use the computer mostly for gaming and financial computations for work... but really mostly for gaming :) I have a relatively limited budget and would manage to get this computer for around 900$ + shipping.. What do you guys think?

Thank you very much in advance for your time..
It is very appreciated..

Hmmm, I'd go with this motherboard. Newer, supports a FSB of 1600, and has PCI-e 2.0. Any other P43 or P45 would do you much better than the one you've got picked.

I'd also grab a bigger harddrive. Price difference shouldn't be very big between yours and a 640Gb HDD. If you need to knock off a few dollars, I'd see about just using the E8500 stock cooler, or going down to an E8400.

Yep, P43 or P45.

That's a nice rig and would work very well for any games out there right now and in the near future. If it's worth it would all depend on the price. As new would be worth about $900 - $950 just for the parts not including OS or warranty. If you're building it yourself go P45

What site are you ordering your parts from and how much does each item cost? It will help us find out how to spend your money better.

Thats the site I was intending to use to order the PC... Since its from Canada the shipping should cost less..
If you scroll around the choices they have, I see some P43 and P45 but not exactly the motherboard that Dekasav mentioned.. Anything you guys would suggest from the given list?

Thanks again for the help :)

P.S. From what you guys answered so far, I've modified it to the following... Would still be appreciated if someone would take the time to go through the list of components offered from the website I linked above.. to see if there would be some better performance/price options...

Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme & Antec PRO 120mm Fan will be more effective as a CPU cooler, just as quiet, and the same price.

For only an extra $14.00, the Antec 900 case would be quite a nice upgrade.

The Gigabyte board you chose is the best you can get there for the price range.

Personally I think I would go with the mATX board and save the money. Here is a review...
