Hello People !

I live in the UK, so I selected an website which has many of the components. I only need these components, as I already have a Zalman cooler, Harddrive, DVD Burner.

It included a 22 inch monitor as well.

Nice list but a couple comments...

For a gaming rig, perhaps choose a fast dual core rather then a slower quad core, something like the E8500.

Also, for a few pounds/dollars more go with a P45 chipset mobo rather than the P43.

I would grab a cheaper P35 mobo if you are going to stay with the Q6600. The added FSB won't add much to the OCability of the Q6600. Heat will be your problem. For a 45nm quad the p45 is the chipset to have and I would go with the Pro or E or a mid range Gigabyte P45.

Sorry for double postings, but the edit function is not working for some reason.

Would everything fit in that case and is the power supply good ? I can't spend more on a case or anything as thats already £35 over my budget :).

Hi chunkymonster!

Thanks for the info. I found out that the one I had selected is not in their QVL list, but this one:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-019-GS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=813&name=G.Skill%204GB%20DDR2%20PQ%20PC2-6400C5%20(2x2GB)%20CAS5%20Dual%20Channel%20Kit%20(F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ)

Here is the QVL list http://uk.asus.com/440/download/products/2269/2269_10.pdf

Could you please just confirm that its correct. I'll take the 4GB one.

Yep, the 4GB kit G.Skill you linked to is on the Asus QVL list.

Good luck!

Hi,

Thanks for the help so far. I've just realized, that my current CPU cooler doesn't fit with the new one, so I need to get a new one.

What about this:
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775)
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-017-AR&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=821&name=Arctic%20Cooling%20Freezer%207%20Pro%20CPU%20Cooler%20(Socket%20LGA775)

I want a really quite one. Would that fit on the CPU and Mainboard?

Hi !

Thanks for the link. Got my one: Thermalright Ultra-120A CPU Cooler (Socket AM2/LGA775).

Do you guys think a 550W PSU would be enough for my system, even in case I
OC it ?
