Hey all,

First post here I just found this site. Very cool!!!

My question is this.......... I have a 37" LG 720p HDTV. I just recently bought a brand new Dell Inspiron 530. I want to hook up my computer to my HDTV. Now I know the current onboard video card will not be able to do this reasonably. Maybe it will. I am not sure. My monitor is hooked with a DVI connection instead of the old style.

So lets say I hook it up with my current set up. What will it look like on my TV? The highest resolution I have now is 1680 x 1050 on my computer. If I do buy a video card, what kind should I buy to get the whole screen to be used on my tv? the computer is not really used for gaming. I will probably do more video editing, but if I could find a reasonable card to do both on my HDTV that would be awesome.

Some specs for you about my computer.

Intel Quad core 2 cpu q9300 2.5 ghz

6GB Ram

Windows Vista Home Edition 64 bit OS

300 Watt Power Supply? (not sure)

Thanks for any info. If you need more info let me know

Scott
