i just finished building my computer

Intel E8500 step E0
Asus P5Q-E

everything runs great etc

hardware monitor in bios shows temps fluctate a lil bit

but when i run RealTemp or CoreTemp

the temps are exactly the same on both programs, but more interesting is that they dont change.

like right now it says 30ºC for both cores

tjmax set to 100

Sensor Movement with RealTemp says Core0 = 0 and Core1 = 4

anyhow, is it reading it correctly ? or is it not working at all because the sensors are bad ?

i mean if its fine then watever, i'm not gunna worry bout it since my comp runs perfect regardless if the temp recordings are flimsy,

but if it could be an issue ? shold i get a diff cpu ? like RMA it and get another one i mean

EDIT - 1
here is a screen shot of all the info i've found so far

EDIT - 2
I'm running Vista Home Premium 64-bit fyi, RealTemp says its compatible with it though so /shrug

The fact that the sensor may be stuck on one of ur cores, isnt much of a problem, as the second core will be in the same tep region as the core 1.

bets thing to do, is to only set the Real temp cores to show only core 2 (the one that aint stuck), this should show an accurate temp for both of the cores.

and yes it is true that u can not RMA the chip for stuck sensors (annoying i know as it should be down to intel, as this is normally an engineering fault)
