u cannot upgrade ram without throwing away your old ram sticks as ur mobo only has 2 slots.. Next best option considerin ur gamin requirement is to buy a new graphics card.. Apart from hardware solutions, do the software stuff like, uninstalling unnecessary program, defrag HDD, defrag RAM, update all ur drivers to latest STABLE versions.. Maybe this might help a bit.

throwing those sticks away isnt much of a loss, and the board can hold 4GB PC6400. I think the GPU is the way to go though, no way has he got a 64bit OS....what sorta budget we talking about?

its a fresh install all just updated maybe, i have spied some half decent ram 4-4-4-12 crucial 22pounds, a 4670 would be nice but a tad pricey. hmmmmm

a 4670 will probably be bottlenecked by ur current CPU... A better buy wud be the 4650.. Newegg has the 1GB version for around 69$.. shop around.

it depends on ur gaming resolution and the games u wanna play.. But, the 4650 is actually an under-clocked 4670.. so if u dont mind overclocking a bit, u can save some cash there.. But no doubt, the 4670 is better, cos u can overclock that even higher i suppose..

Well if he's got the dough, I'd suggest getting the same card I have.
The Asus EAH4850 TOP 512mb DDR3
It's not too pricey...I mean it's a great card, runs around $150. I'd save up and buy that, plug in some ddr2 ram to that mobo and you're set. =]
