Ok I ordered a Foxconn A7GM-S 2.0, Phenom II 720, G.SKill F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK (4 gig 1066), OCZ StealthXStream OCZ700SXS 700W ATX12V, I get no video, this is really all I need to get my system to POST correct? (tried the on board video, and a GPU which works with my old PC) Put the minimal in, system starts, not beeps because the mobo has no on board speaker, so I hooked up a LED to the on board system LED indicator only to find out it has to first be enabled in the BIOS which i cannot access...
I ordered this motherboard because it claimed to be AM3 compatible out of the box, because I do not have an AM2 processor to flash with, Foxconn told me I need a AM2 processor to flash it...so I go out and buy one for $30, still no video. Tried even one of my friends working AM3 processors, nothing.
I tried another PSU, still nothing.
Jumped the CMOS, still nothing.
Swapped with a known to work battery, nothing.
Used only 1 stick of RAM in the first slot, tried even a different brand of ram (800 MHZ), still nothing.
Double checked ALL my power connections, I have CPU fan plugged in, CPU 4 pin power, and the 24 ATX pin plugged in.
Placed my board on a piece of cardboard, still will not show video.
Anything else, you can see I'm missing?
I'm out of options and have already sent a RMA form back to Newegg, wish now I'd just bought an AM2 processor and a 1/2 way decent board in the first place.
Thanks.
