Alright, so I've been doing some research, and this is what I've come up with for a new system. This is my first time building, so I don't doubt there might be some issues.

Case: Antec Nine Hundred
120mm fan replacements: Thermaltake A1926 120mm
Fan Control: Sunbeam RHK-EX-BA
PS: PC Power & Cooling S75QB 750W

CPU: Intel Q6600
Heatsync: XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 + Retention Bracket

Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-X48-DS4
RAM: G.SKILL PI Black 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 800
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250 GB
GFX: HIS Hightech H487F512P Radeon HD 4870 + ZALMAN VF700-CU
Optical: Sony NEC Optiarc SATA 20X DVD±R Burner

Thoughts, comments or suggestions on replacements would be appreciated!

ATI is moving to a new cooling tech. Sapphire is already adopting it. It's called vapor chamber cooling, and if neweeg.ca doesn't have it yet it will very soon. Don't buy an expensive card then instantly void the warranty.

Everything else seems OK right off.

Thanks for that, I'll hold off for awhile on the vg fan, then.

Wow, the tech industry never ceases to amaze me. I've been out of the desktop field for awhile while I had fun with notebooks... I was amazed at how much I've missed out on. :| And this is just an example of why it took so long to get up to speed again, things change so quickly!
