Hello,
Just installed the above as a slave,in the BOIS it is shown as a slave and is enabled,but it does not show as installed in my computer and is not intialzed,what have i not done.

Is it a completely brand new drive? You need to go to disk management and initialize/format it. Exactly how you do this depends on your OS, or you can google it.

yes it is new.in my computer it does not show as a seperate disk,so can not format it.

Just retryed what you suggested,done a re-start and it now works ok,thank you.

First you must create a partition. After that you can enter into "My Computer" and, then, you can format it.
You can create the partiton using the OS installation disk (XP, VIsta, 7) or using a program like Partiton manager.

no need to use the install disk if you already have the OS installed. Usually something like right-click my computer & then "manage" then disk management
