Maxtor onetouch 4 plus user guide

Hello,
I've had my drive about 3 years; worked fine until the other day. Now neither my PC or laptop will show the drive in My Computer. I can feel the drive spinning; I can get the power light in front to come on; when I plug it in, I get a pop up that says "Installing device driver software" and after a minute or so, I get a pop up that says "Disk drive installed". But I cant find it under My Computer or under computer Device Manager. Is this a power supply or other problem? thanks

Go to Control panel->Administrative Tools->Computer management->Disk Management and assign it a letter.
You might have to disassemble it and hook the hard drive up to a computer.

Run manufacturer hard disk diagnostics if necessary.
