Any hope for this mobo?

On a socket 775 motherboard, the tabs of the plastic frame surrounding the CPU socket (to which the metal clips attach, thereby fastening the heatsink in place) have broken, leaving no way to hold the CPU heatsink on.

The motherboard is otherwise serviceable; can something so minor and insignificant render this motherboard useless?

Just purchase a third party heatsink which can install on its own, included retention frame, using mounting holes in the motherboard.

Its no great loss, intel heatsinks are terrible.
