I have doubts about the veracity of this report - a GTX 260 GX2 would draw a ton of power, and run extremely hot. I'm not saying its impossible, but I would be quite surprised if it were true, unless it also involved something like a die shrink.

Just followed your link. Got me to thinking, which is faster, a 4870 or a G260? Going to be a close one, IF they really sell any

Maybe with the 55nm shrink this would be possible?
hopefully they don't do the double pcb design again

Thats the problem, theyll most likely have to. Ive seen the pic, but Im not sold. Thisd be 2 400nm2 + di, on 1 pcb, with a plx chip and 2 512 bit buses, sounds like an awful lot on 1 pcb, oh, and add 2 gigs of ram to boot
