I did search so sorry if this has been covered.
Basically i was wondering if anyone had any ideas or speculation about how the new architecture will be set out.
This has come about due to me reading some things on the net and some are saying 960 ALU's and some are saying 1000. This lead me to think that it must be easy to work out which way it would go based on the architecture, unfortunately its not looking that simple.
As far as i can see with the suggested numbers you would have to either add 2 more SIMD Cores to make 80X12=960 (up from 80X10=800). This would seem favourite to me.
Or tack 4 more blocks of 5 shader clusters on the end of the existing SIMD cores to get 10X100=1000 (up from 10X80=800).
So what do we think? Are there any reasons to go one way as oposed to the other?
there is also rumors of it being the first true dual gpu architecture. don't have much to say about that... its on a 40nm process though, im pretty sure about that... heat output should roughly be the same of the hd4000 series
