Hello,
I created a new thread since I have now pin pointed the issue that I was having and the title became misleading cause of it.

*****
Essentially when I load my pc and the CPU hits 50 degrees my pc will:

If CPU TM Function is enabled : throttle down to a 6x multiplier

If CPU TM Function is disabled : shut down
*****

It never used to do this and I have already tried the follow solutions:
Disable C1E / Speed Step
Disable Motherboard temp readings
Plug my cpu fan into a different header
Reset my Cpu heatsink/fan
Upgrade/Downgrade my bios
Try a different heat sink
blast fans at 100%

This all started when I traded out my zalman 9300at for a ultra 120 extreme
I thought it might have been the ultra 120 extreme so I took it back to the store for a tuniq tower.
That did not change a darn thing :/

The over clock I ran for 24/7 for about 6 months:
400 X 8
CPU 1.285v
Ram set to 1:1 at 1.9v
NB 1.2v

Temps Running prime95 for roughly 5 mins with the OC on:
Cores upper 40s-lower 50s
Motherboard Upper 20s sometimes lower 30s
HDs Upper 20s to mid 30s
Radeon 5850 Low 40s
Fans all set to 75% - 100%

System Specs
Corsair 850watt PSU
Q6600 w/ Go stepping
p5q se 2
radeon 5850
6 gigs of ram
2 hardrives
1 dvd burner
Tuniq Tower
after market Copper n/b heatsink
6x80mm case fans

***Please do not respond stating "Disable speedstep/C1E" because they always have been disabled and are not the issue***

Thank you in advanced, I hope someone here can help because I am at my wits end. My friends cant help, Microcenter staff couldn't help, and now its up to the god like abilities of the forum people to rise to my aid and deliver me from this dark disease of the CPU. haha :)

Now I'm wondering why your CPU would throttle itself at just 50 degrees. Tjmax is 99C if I remember correctly. Try finding a BIOS setting that states "max CPU temperature" or something similar? Or you could try reseating the CPU and cooler.

There is not setting to determine when my CPU throttles itself, either I have CPU TM Function on and it drops the multiplier at 50 or I have it off and it shuts down at 50

I reseated the CPU when I installed the tuniq tower

My q6600 should be okay up to 70 degrees

thanks for the reply but I have a feeling I might be forced to ditch this mobo very soon :/
