Well i haven't built a comp in 4 years and the technology has changed so much since then. I really want to get back into online gaming, FPS to be exact. I am going to be starting this build from scratch. I have a few ideas of parts that i want and i was wondering if you all can help me out.

Processor:AMD Phenom 9950 2.6GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Quad-Core Black Edition

MOBO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131339

Video card: Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 Video Card - 1GB GDDR5, PCI Express 2.0 x16
or should i go for the 4870x2

Memory: Patriot EP 4096MB PC8500 DDR2 1066MHz (2X2048MB)

PSU:COOLER MASTER Real Power Pro RS-750-ACAA-A1 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Retail

How high do you want your resolution? if you want the play the newest games at the highest resolutions, then yes, get the X2, otherwise don't bother yet.

Your link to the mobo is no good.

Most of the posts following mine will suggest you switch to an intel CPU, so i'll just ask you now: do you want to stick with AMD or was that just the first thing you saw?
