I have two gigabytes of ram in my computer, with a 5600x2 amd, 8800gts 640mb, etc.. Right now I am seeing my ram on the internet for another 2gb's for 20 dollars. Should I do it?

I have windows xp professional. are all professionals 64bit?

even if it is only 32-bit, would it be smart to just get it? and would it help in running my computer a little faster

No xp pro is not 64 bit unless you bought the 64 bit version just as with every other version of windows currently out.

I have 4GB and xp pro and my os "sees" 3.5GB of my ram. Depending on many variables 4GB of physical ram will show as 3 to 3.75GB on a 32 bit system.

really depends on what you do, do you play a game the is a memory hog or do you run several intensive applications at one time then you need it. For most people it would be an unnecessary upgrade, but if you actually use that much memory it will make a huge difference. I would do it in a heart beat but thats because of the way i use my computer.
