Hi all

I have the ep45-ud3r motherboard from gigabyte and i see a 2x4 12v connector for the cpu??

But as far as i know most power supply's use only a 4 pin connector for the cpu?

Why is it a 2x4 12v connector? Does the motherboard need 2 4pin's on it from the power supply?

Thanks

You only require a single 4 pin to power the CPU. The extra one is optional. The extra 4 pin help with giving stable power to (mainly) Quad core CPUs. Most good quality PSUs (ie PC Power & Cooling 750) come with a 8 pin CPU power. Just make sure you plug in the 4pin the correct way and side.

Haha, do not plug the second set of power connectors (all 8 pins) in unless you have a quad core. The second set is ONLY for quad cores.
