like a thin layer of metal inside a disc that gets etched with 1-4 layers all meeting at one point.

  1. DVDs with a gold reflective layer are pretty much bulletproof.

    Aluminized ones are pretty good too, as long as the initial bonding is good so that the integrity of the polycarbonate layers aren't compromised and allow moisture to enter.
